As a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, we provide essential 24/7 emergency care, inpatient services, primary care, specialty clinics, surgical procedures, swing bed rehabilitation, and senior living- all without the long drives to bigger cities.

  • "With all the negative things I sometimes hear about Share Medical Center, I felt it was important to share my own experience after a recent visit to the ER and an overnight stay. My family and I have lived in Alva since 1972, and over our 53 years here, we have gone to the ER several times. I must say that from the moment the excellent EMS crew brought me in, the entire SMC team provided truly outstanding care. I'd like to extend my sincere gratitude for the compassion, professionalism, and personal attention I received, especially because I was worried, based on past experiences, that my care might fall short. Instead, I was met with kindness, confidence, and a genuine desire to help with anything I needed. Your staff made me feel comfortable and cared for, not just as a patient but as a person.
