SMC announces its new online Patient Portal
Share Medical Center (SMC) is pleased to unveil their new Share Medical Center Patient Portal, which will be available to all patients starting in July, 2014. This interactive web portal will empower patients and families to take a more active role in your care by providing easy, secure access to your health information.
Share Medical Center Patient Portal gives our patients instant access to their health information, including laboratory results, medications, allergies, demographic information, visit history, discharge/aftercare information, and more. Patients can also access their billing statements and outstanding balances. In addition to handling your own care, parents and health care proxies with authorized consent will appreciate the ability to access the records of those individuals for whom they manage care.
The Share Medical Center Patient Portal allows patients to track their appointments online. A central appointment page displays your list of scheduled and pending appointments and details of those appointments if necessary. The Portal cannot access Physician Clinic visits and clinic records at this time. Share Medical Center Patient Portal also saves patients time by allowing them to submit updates to their demographic and contact information prior to their visits.
To start the enrollment process, contact Share Medical Center at (580) 327-2800. You must have an email address on file prior to enrollment. Please call us and we will start the enrollment process with you and give you your patient ID number, which you will need to finalize your enrollment. The link to enroll in the portal is at the very top of our webpage at www.smcok.com on the left that says “Patient Portal Enrollment”. To access the portal after enrollment, click the text link next to the enrollment link that says “Patient Portal”. We encourage all of our patients to enroll in the Share Medical Center Patient Portal, as it presents a valuable opportunity for our patients and their families to actively participate in your care, which contributes to better health.
