Heasley Volunteerism Earns Statewide Recognition
The Hospital Volunteers of Oklahoma recently recognized 22 volunteers from across the state as 2013 Volunteers with Spirit. The awards were presented during the Hospital Volunteer Day Luncheon at the Oklahoma Hospital Association Annual Convention on Nov. 20. Share Medical Center volunteer Lynn Heasley was among the honorees.
Heasley is a "jack of all trades" among SMC volunteers, doing everything from filing records to supervising SMC work crews from Bill Johnson's Correctional Center.
Heasley had a large hand in the accomplishment of the Cow Patty Bingo held on July 4 and the completion of the Donald Lee Bellah Memorial Garden earlier this year at Share Medical Center. He has volunteered at all SMC facilities, the hospital, nursing home and The Homestead, averaging over sixty hours per month at Share.
"It's no wonder Lynn's nomination received this recognition," commented Kelly Parker, Homestead Director. "Lynn is an incredibly passionate and kind person, with just enough stubbornness to ensure things get done. We get a lot of credit for many things that Lynn does and I get the feeling he'd just as soon keep it that way."
