Chesapeake Dedicates Nursing Staff Room at Share Medical Center
ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Representatives from Chesapeake Energy Corporation, Share Medical Center and the Share Medical Center Foundation recently gathered to dedicate the Center’s nursing staff room in honor of the energy company. The room dedication recognizes Chesapeake’s support of the Foundation’s $2 million Focus on the Future campaign. The campaign is raising funds for electronic health record and telemedicine initiatives that will help the hospital provide essential healthcare services to patients in remote, rural northwest Oklahoma by connecting them with metro area providers and specialists via state-of-the-art medical technology.
Chesapeake joined Community Bank and Banc Central as the only corporate contributors with room dedications. One family and one local trust also made room dedications during this most recent campaign. This brings the total number of room dedications to 13 with more than 25 hospital and nursing home room dedication opportunities still available.
“Chesapeake’s support truly demonstrates its commitment to our medical center and our community” said Kelly Parker, Share Medical Center Foundation Executive Director. “All donations will help as we near the completion of our campaign’s first phase and prepare for phase two. Share Medical Center is closer to helping our rural patients receive the healthcare they need in a more convenient and timely manner.”
Chesapeake and its employees have been longtime supporters of medical center projects and activities including donations to the hospice program and volunteering at the nursing home.
“The Share Medical Center is a vital institution in our community and Chesapeake is pleased to support the Center in providing quality medical care to our families and neighbors,” said Robert Elliott, Chesapeake Operations Manager based in Chesapeake’s Waynoka field office. “This campaign is about growth for the hospital and enabling better treatment of those in rural areas. We hope other companies and individuals will join us in contributing to this important cause.”
