Absentee and Incapacitated Voter Guidelines for the November 12 Election
Information from the Alva Review Courier, November 1, 2013, page 3.
Regarding the City of Alva, November 12, 2013 election for the hospital sales tax measure, there is still opportunity for absentee voting as well as voting for people who become physically incapacitated.
While the application deadline for registered voters to mail-in absentee ballots has passed, in-person absentee voting will be possible November 7 and 8 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the County Election Board office, located in the Woods County Courthouse, downtown Alva.
Persons who become physically incapacitated after 5 p.m. on November 5, 2013 may also vote in the November 12 election. Physical incapacitation includes a variety of conditions, i.e. "injury, illness, childbirth - that prevents a person from voting in person at the polls on election day."
If you have questions about absentee voting or if you or someone you know may fit the definition of a physically incapacitated voter, please call the Woods County Election Board at 580.327.1452.
