As the stewards of your generous contributions, it is important that we do our part to help our supporters make the most of their lifetime contributions. We want our gifts to make a difference now, as well as in the future.
That is why we encourage our supporters to consider Forever Gifts with our foundation. It's actually much easier than people might think and our supporters can continue to make a difference in local healthcare, even after death.
How Can I Make a Forever Gift?
Supporters may add the SMC Foundation as a partial beneficiary to their life insurance policy, retirement plan, or bank accounts. Such designations cost nothing today and may be changed any time if circumstances or preferences may change.
Supporters may also designate the SMC Foundation as a benefactor in their will or estate documents. These such designations in your will or estate may require professional assistance from an attorney or financial advisor.
How Much Do I Designate?
This amount is determined according to the annual impact you would like your contribution to have. If you wanted to give $100 per year, forever, a $2,000 Forever Gift would make that possible. The table below shows some common giving levels.
|DESIRED AMOUNT OF YEARLY IMPACT||$100||FOREVER GIFT AMOUNT||$2,000|
How Does This Work?
Whenever someone gives a Forever Gift, we place it in a special fund which the original gift will never be touched. The Forever Gift will earn interest of about 5% per year. The investment strategy for our Forever Gifts is very conservative and intended to provide ongoing support for Share Medical Center for, well, forever.
